Common Name: Narrowwinged Damselflies; Pond Damsels
Description: Most of the narrowwinged damselfies are small and slender with a long abdomen. Body colors include red, green, blue, purple, orange, or yellow. They have narrow, transparent wings that they hold vertically over the body at rest. This is the most common family of damselflies. Adults are most often found near the ground, perching on rocks, sticks, or low-growing vegetation.

- Wings lacking color and usually held together over the back when at rest
- Only two antenodal crossveins in front and hind wings
- M3 vein sharply curved and originating closer to nodus than to arculus
