Description: “Long-horned” grasshoppers are characterized by thread-like antennae that are longer than the body. They have chewing mouthparts and feed on the leaves of host plants. Most species are green or brown in color and blend in with surrounding vegetation. Adult males produce chirping sounds to attract a mate. Their tympanal organs (ears) are located on the tibia of the front legs.
