Description:   Aphids are small soft-bodied insects, usually 1-10 mm in length, with pear-shaped bodies and long antennae. They may be winged or wingless. They feed on plant sap, often producing honeydew as an excretory product. Many species reproduce by parthenogenesis and some are important vectors of plant viruses.
