A. M2 vein in the front wing arises near the middle of the discal cell (midway between M1 and M3). This makes the cubital vein “appear” to have three branches.
B. M2 vein in the front wing arises near the bottom of the discal cell (much closer to M3 than to M1). This makes the cubital vein “appear” to have four branches.
